I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has expressed care and concern, shared encouraging words, and also especially those who shared their similar experiences and testified of God’s faithfulness in their lives.
The reason I started writing on this blog was because I wanted to be able to share my life with you, not just the celebrations but also the struggles, and the journeys in between. In telling my stories, I hope that you may be encouraged if you are going through a similar situation and I hope to also hear your stories, to learn from what you have learned!
I believe that we should share our stories. Many times it is easier to put on a facade that everything is okay or to just simply try to be strong through our trials. We might feel embarrassed that we’re struggling with something seemingly insignificant or think we are the only one with problems, but many times we only see parts of people’s lives. While I do think it is good to focus on the good times, I believe that we are called to carry each others’ burdens and to lift each other up in their times of weakness. And then there will come times of rejoicing!
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
For those who are struggling…
You are not alone! We all go through rough spots and dry spells. Even King David wrote of his frustrations and anxiety, sorrow and anger. Be real with God and tell Him how you feel. I pray that you will find someone to be able to share your hurts and pain and that you will feel God’s faithfulness in your life. I am grateful that I have found listening ears for times when my light is dimmed. They not only empathize and sympathize, but they also speak the truth gently and challenge me to do hard things.
For those who have struggled…
Share your stories! Look for someone to encourage! Maybe you went through the pain in order to help even just one person with your story. I know not all stories are easy to tell, but I pray that you will find wisdom and grace and for a way to minister to someone else in need. Speak truth but speak gently and with love. Spur each other on towards a life that is blameless and upright and overflowing with love.
1 Thessalonians 5:14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.
So, I want to say again… Thank you for being an encouragement to me and I hope that we can lift each other up through our journey in life!
